Anyway, they said "We want to thank you for being a good customer and want to make you an offer to pay off your loan...please call..."
So, the reason I am posting this is because I have read nothing but bad news about them. Are they being nice just so I will call back and then they start getting nasty?
Ideas, thoughts?

They're a real pain in the neck....When you call them, they will have some outlandish amount that you owe...
If you still owe your principal, offer them that only...(Which is more than likely $200) They'll take it.
Mention the fact that they are not licensed in the US...They LOVE that....See if they say if they're licensed in all 52 united states...lol That's what they told me.

52 states? Since when do we have 52? I know I slept through alot of social studies classes, but I do remember them only showing 50. Good grief!

They are being nice so you can call them back...
Did you send them a cease/desist letter? They are not licensed anywhere from what I have gathered and they are an on line payday lender with no store fronts. Not to pry but how much was your loan and how much have you paid thus far? I'm sure like the rest of us here that have dealt with them you have overpaid them. If it wasn't for this site I would still be oblivious to how they have gauged me over the last several months and not being educated concerning these types of lenders.
I have actually been going back in forth with them but under Route 66 Funding. I sent them the cease/desist letter and that all communications are to be in writing. I filed complaints against them with the State Attorney General, The Federal Trade Commision and the BBB, and filed an affidavit with my bank.
These are are some of the names they go under as well:
Route 66 Funding
Cash Today Limited
Cash Today Limited dba Route 66 Funding
Cash Today Limited dba Interim Cash Limited
Cash Today Limited dba Cash 2 Day 4 U

That's what I asked him. I said, "I went to a country school, but our books were printed in the big city and they said we only have FIFTY!" He was not amused...lol

My eight year old's social studies book only shows 50 states also. Wonder what school he went to. Maybe a school for looney tunes.

Yes, I know about the letter, my problem is this: I have no way of contacting them other than the 800# - I don't have a fax and I don't tknow their address. How do I send the Cease and Desist letter?
Furthermore, have they ever given a refund that anyone knows of?

Hi Chagrin: I have a physical address for these creeps. I took out a $200 loan which then escalated to over $1000.00. I complained to the BBB in Nevada which then Cash today reduced it to $600.00, all while hounding me at work. They have finally stopped. Here is the address:
Cash Today
1005 Terminal Way
Suite 110
Reno, NV 89502
Good luck

Missy, Please clarify - you paid 1000, right in the 79 dollar or whatever fees? Then you say they reduced it to 600. I am not sure I understand fully. Did you have to pay them another 600? Or did they refund you?

Furthermore, someone else stated that they are in UK (which is how I did my loan) so which is it?

You will find in the journey of dealing with pdls, they state they are in a certain state, but later you find out they are in a totally different area. Take Sonic for instance, they gave US addresses, British Columbia when they are actually located in Malta.

HAA, that's hilarious! So, that whole thing about them calling me from Britain, and "governed by the laws of the UK..." I can send my letter to that Nevada adress and it addresses the same company?
