They are now only lending to California residents. So they aren't totally down, but this is still great news!!!

Well well well, that is good news hopefully they won't be back up and running in any state. Confirmation also that they are not backed by a bank, at least in CA but by "investors" like I stated earlier in the thread!

I have a retarded question. What does this mean for all the poor people that have a Cash Call loan? Whether it's backed by Cash Call themselves or by First Bank of Delaware. Does this mean anything at all? I know it's a "good thing", but explain to the crazy girl who has a "confusion problem"!

first I don't think you are crazy, or are you? I'm not really sure what the difference is, but I think it is good that they are "temporarily shut down" cause that means that a few desparate souls will be saved. and maybe the investors won't come back saving even more souls. My loan with them is backed by investors because they have told me that while trying to wrangle me into PDL to pay them. YEAH RIGHT!

I've had a couple of those today too, hope it's not me making you think WHAAT?!?!? I am pretty much no longer dealing with pdls but cashcall is another story, they are relentless, calling calling and calling, even if you talk to them, they call again later in the day..and I'm thinking oh yeah I miracuosly pulled the money out of my butt in the last 4 hours. Maybe the meanies that were calling me got laid off cause come to think of it my phone calls have calmmed way down in the last week or so.

Wow, this is awesome news, hopefully they will shut down completely. This one should be interesting to follow. Goodluck all cashcall victims and keep your fingers crossed that they go out of business completely. Wish Delaware bank would quit funding them, now there are some crooks, seems like they have their hands in all these high lender purses don't they? Wish the feds would knock on their door. They fund for cash call and for checkngo and who knows who else.

Some states have laws on the books that define this as harassment, and there may be statutory damages, too... When in doubt, check with a local atty or your state's AG.

Some companies beg to be sued. Harassment, threats, and over charging.

It takes a consumer to make this move though, sounds as if we have a few on this forum that could file a suit for violation of fdca.

Let me give some advice, from PERSONAL experience. DO NOT pay Cash Call ANYMORE money!!!!!! They are 'going under', and need all the money they can get!!! I got a loan, from CC, last year. March, of this year, I had to stop making payments..just couldn't afford it. They 'sold' my defaulted account, to a CA, who is WONDEFUL to deal with. The CA told me that CC has 'sold' about 80% of their defaulted loans. Instead of the 99% rate, I was paying at CC, I am NOW paying LESS than 3%, on the loan, through this CA. I ALSO heard, on the news AND read on the WEB, tthat CC NO LONGER has " bank backing". THAT'S why they are 'going under'. If 'you' ( speaking generally) NO LONGER MAKE PAYMENTS, Cc will 'sell' your loan to a CA. The amount you will pay back will determine on the % rate, of the ORIGINAL amount you barrowed, in the state where you live. That's my advice to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cc will try and 'scare' you, with their tactics, etc. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!

Ok, Where did you read that they no longer have bank banking? If this is confirmed, wouldn't this mean that they are then not legal? And wouldn't that be great!!!!!

If they are not being financially backed, than they could not stay afloat on their own.
