I just got off the phone with route 66 they have taken a total of 600.00 out of my account for a 200.00 loan. I have closed my bank account and I did state to them that what they are doing is illegal as well as unethicial. I have filed a complaint with the Fl. State Attorney General's office, and I pray they can not get to my new account

Carrie Welcome to the forums. They cannot get your new account. But be careful and dont give the info to anyone. My bank advised me to never use my check card online either. Hope this helps and you get something worked out. KYSIDE38

Carrie, did they take the $600 all at once? If it's not too late, your bank might be able to reverse it. It would definitely be worth a try. As far as using your card on the internet, a woman I was talking to who was the victim of identity theft said she is now using gift cards when she wants to purchase something over the internet. I hope everything works out for you.

Here is a link to a letter on Polly's blog that can be used to get them off your back. The letter is for Cash Today, but Route 66 is the same company, they are just using a different name. They go by a few different names, actually.

Route 66 Funding is a scam. Read other posts about this company. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/settlement/about12476-13.html

Explain your bank that the debit was done fraudulently. They will place a dispute with them and get the amount reverted. The number of complaints is growing everyday against this company. Report your state attorney general and the FTC. It is the time to see some legal actions

after sending my letter like 60 times for the past week, i got a call from Route 66 funding they now want $450 after i already paid them $1770.00 on a 200 loan they refuse to email me saying they do not do agreements over the email, all the comunications has to be via phone.

i refused all communications via phone so the "supervisor" came on the phone and said you can pay fees forever on this loan but you will still owe the principal, i told her i file a report with the FTC, AG and BBB that did not face her a bit, i kept insisting they email me and she kept repeating the same thing over and over so i hug up on her.

what do you think will be their next action? now i'm a little scared nothing sees to face them...and i cannot closed my bank account because is overdrawn...omg

You should go open a new account somewhere else, that account will eventually be closed. I know you will owe your current bank money, but you can set easy payment arrangements with them to payoff and you know that won't go on forever. It is probably the only way to take care of it.

Each bank has a different amount of time that they will wait for an overdrawn account before they close it for being overdrawn too long. Are they charging you a daily fee for each day your are overdrafted. I know most banks usually will close the account after 30 days. And I have never known, but what does GFSIL stand for?

Drowning:

When ICS was debiting from my account, each time, they would debit, I would call my bank and tell them it was a fraudulent transaction, and they would credit it. I know I've heard somewhere, and I don't know if it's true in all states (if anyone else has heard this, let me know), that they're only allowed to attempt to debit your account three times. If after three tries, they aren't able to debit it, that company is not allowed to try anymore. Ask your bank about that. Also, if they won't close your account, ask their advice on how to handle this. I know right now it seems like you're in a nightmare, but there is an end to all this. The best of luck to you.

Drowning - I can believe it - been there, done that, sold the t-shirt to pay the overdraft fees.
