okay si I have a Message from a "Mr. Odom" and he is talking about I am committing a felony and this and that (for closing my bank account). Then he says "maybe you can talk to blank and blank about helping you repay this loan"

First of all are they some kind of stalkers!? I never gave them those names (they are names of relatives)and I ceratinly did not give them their phone numbers. I need to find out how much I paid on this loan because I am not paying them a PENNY over the principle amount borrowed. How dare he call me and threaten me saying I committed a felony. I have every right to close an accout if debits are not authorized and if a check book is misplaced!

I was hoping I would not run into any craziness but it seems it has all just begun.

How did they get my family members contact information? This is weird and freaking me out a bit.

Yep, that's the same guy that called me!!! He didn't mention any family members to me, but he did threaten the felony . . . . Then the next day he called again, acting all nice, and when I mentioned his threats from the other day, he said "Wow, i don't remeber that, I must be smoking crack"!!! What state do you live in again? I know you've told me, but I forgot. I've been emailing them, and they haven't called me since I told them I'd retained a lawyer for BK. But Mr Odom did tell me they would be there to contest my BK and to tell the judge I was just scamming them out of money!

I also talked to the licensing office in my state, and since cashnet500 doesn't have a license here they are now being investigated. I've also filed a BBB complaint, not like they'd care, they have an unsatisfactory rating anyways.

I just looked and aren't payday loans illegal in Maryland? You need to contact your AG's office immediatly and report them! They are doing illegal business in your state and they will be investigated.

And I hope you saved that message . . . Saying you will be arrested for a felony for non payment of a payday loan is flat out illegal. I'd play the message for your AG's office, and maybe the police.

They are being sued in WV. I hope they nail these people they are a dirty bunch. Plesae send those complaints in to the AG as soon as possible. The complaints are working. It is illegal in MD. Therefore the law is already on your side. If you have paid back principal I would say forget them. They will threaten everything but they dont like dealing with AG I can tell you that. KYSIDE38

I am in MD and I know from this website that they are not even legal in my state!! It is so insulting. I am not hiding from them, I am paying back my loans but I am not paying freaking 750% interest, that is insane. they get principle balance and that is it.

Creditor Schmedator - stay STRONG on this guy - he's making empty threats that he cannot back up. He can SAY anything he wants, but in the end, you will find that he's simply blowing smoke to try and get you to pay. That's the way these people work. Fear, intimidation, and more fear to try and get you to pay. And when that doesn't work, they'll try guilt. (You have cost our company money, we're not making any profit at all on your loan...blah blah blah) I'm sorry, I have no pity at all for a loan-sharking company that lends illegally and then expects the consumer to absorb THEIR costs on top of the loan principal.

Best wishes, keep posting and let us know how this goes for you. And definitely file the complaints with your AG and BBB.

Oh yea and last week another lady called saying I could pay it off in 3 debits from my credit or debit card. Each payment was over $100. I told her that I like the option of using a card (I have Capital One and if they even TRIED to use my card after this is settled I would have no problem pressing charges).

After thinking about it, I decided heck no, because I had already given them $105 bucks, so if I make 3 more payments of over $100 I would have been paying them over $400 and almost $500 bucks on a $300 loan. I think not.

Cashnet500 is Global Payday Loans.

You might have used your family members as a reference when applying for the loan. That is how I guess they got their contact info.

Make sure that you have paid the principal amount to CashNet. Then your fight will sound legal and give better results. Don't be scared of the threats. They are investigated in a few states and will be banned from doing business.

That is the thing, I did not use family as a reference! And even if I did decide to use family, they are the last people I would have used!!! That is what makes this so crazy! I don't even have their home number, I have not talked to those family members in months!?? I used college friends as a reference, I didn't anticipate haveing problems with them, but I also knew I didn't want them calling and telling anyone that I applied for the loan, that is why I didn't use references I even had good numbers for....so for them to have the names of my family members is just blowing my mind...stalkers!

"Tim" goes by the alias "McFeeters" and "Atkins." He
pretends to be the "Manager." When you apply pressure he whines!
