Whell I am in the United States Navy and trying to conslidate all of my old debt from when I was 18-20 years old. I was not responsible and did not take care of anything. I would like to get my credit back on the right track for my family's future. I a little over $12,000 in old debt.

Hi Justin
Not sure how old the accounts are. Negative accounts like judgment, collections are reported in the credit report for 7 years. Bankruptcy stays for 10 years.
If your accounts are too old to be reported in your file now, a payment will bring it current and will be entered back that can hurt your credit ratings.
