This is starting to scare me. I closed my bank account and changed to a new bank. I see a lot of people in here stating that their new accounts have been debited by these individuals. Can they do this? How did they get their information and how could the bank allow this? Thanks in advance.

make sure you DO NOT give ANYONE your new bank account info...And talk to them about blocking ACH debits..

OK. What exactly is an ACH Debit? I can still do bill pay, which I am planning on using for our local bills electric, propane, etc. Thank you so much for your help.

That's usually what PDLs use to take their payments.

No company can do the ACH debit without your authorization. Explain your bank manager that the debits done are not authorized by you. Your bank should be able to stop the IPDL from doing further debits. Does the IPDL know about your new bank account?
You need to go through your state laws and review the bank statements for the previous payments done. You will know the outstanding balance with the lender and therefore, make a payment arrangement.

No, the only person i gave this information to was for a local medical bill - they are the only ones pulling money from my account every month. I just wanted to be sure they do not try to bleed me dry anymore. Thank you.

I am trying to understand how others on this board posting for the first time have had their new bank accounts debited if they have not furnished the information to the IPDL?
