Oh man, now I have a court date!

So, about the court thing: I was arrested on November 12th, 2006, due to 6 tickets (warrants) that were all either no inspection/no registration or no insurance. Well, I spent a total of 7 hours in jail, got bailed out ($700.00 for nothing) and now I have a court date for those tickets on January 3rd, 2007. Would any of my debts come out in the court? I am scared (and I can't sleep) that they will say "Now that you're here, we see that you also owe a few banks, paypal, etc" and toss me in the jail till I pay. I just woke up after a nap from a nightmare like that. Could that happen? Or will I just go to court, make arrangements with the judge to pay the $1500+ fines, and leave? If you can help, great. If not, please don't make fun. I'm seriously scared.

Hi. I promise not to make fun of you, being in debt is damn scary.

First of all, they won't do a credit check at court, so your debts won't show up. Don't feel dumb, Last year I was accused of passing a bus when it was stopped and get a $500 ticket in the mail..I didn't do it, and I went to court to prove it..But I was scared of exactly the same thing you are. It won't happen, I swear. You're just going to be held accountable for your driving problems, I promise. So please..REST!!!

Everything is going to be ok. This board will help you. After the new year, get everything together and see where you stand on your debts...Maybe consolidation will be a serious thought for you.

Definitely don't stress about your debts and driving record being one in the same---calm down and think about it...if this were the case...my brother and many others would STAY in jail.
