I'm in need of help. I've been with a law firm since April of last year and it turns out they haven't done a thing with my money since then and I've been burned. I need to sign up for a debt consolidation company or declare bankruptcy very soon. I want to know of any companies that are good, reliable and don't cost a fortune every month (cause I really can't afford that much a month, hence the debt problem to begin with).

Any leads would be great.

The debt counselor can put you in contact with debt consolidation companies and programs that will best suit your needs. I can totally understand your predicament and filing bankruptcy probably seems like a way out right now. Please consider all your options first and registering as a free member here can help. rrarra2001 , We don`t allow solicitations on this site. The " 501(c) 3 Non profit Company" organizations still charge a fee. Its known as consumer credit counseling services and although their fees are usually less than debt settlement they still don't work for free.

Nikki M , what was the name of the company that you are not happy with ? Perhaps I can help you file a complaint to get your money back and go with a reputable company.

As far as going with another company.It is very important that you choose a company that has a great reputation. When shopping around with settlement companys be sure you look them up with the BBB to make sure they have a great track record. Also please make sure they are either members of TASC or USOBA. Here are the names of just a few reputable companys that do great work.
