they have called me and said i could not pay them by mail. that i had to use western union or a company like that or a have it automatically taken from my bank account. is there anything that someone can tell me about this. i live in wv.

Do you mean AIP? It is illegal to make a person pay by giving out account info. They have to, and most likely will, accept payment by money order or cashiers check. If it's AIP, do a search and you will find their address posted.

Never give your bank account info to any collector, they can clean you out. Also, don't send them a personal check,for the same reason-money order or cashiers check. Send your payment to the collection agency's mailing address. They will have to post it to your account after receiving money. If they don't update, let your attorney general know about this thing. They will do the investigations on them.
