They left me a message saying they filed a complaint in my state on me and that I need to contact them as soon as possible or at my earliest convience.
I was just wondering if anyone has had this happen before, I would like to know what to expect before I call.

Thank You!

What is the status of your pdl account with them?

What state are you in? Have you checked if Geneva Roth is licensed there? Go through the contract you signed with them and see if they have followed the laws in your state. Review the terms and conditions mentioned in the fine print and if there is any point to dispute, prepare your defense.

You need to find out the reason of the complaint. Give them a call and know the actual story.

This company is the worst that you will ever deal with. I believed them and set up a payment arrangement with them...they took a double payment, which I fought and they credited back, and now they have attempted on 2 different occasions to take different amounts out of my account.

They will use all sorts of scare tactics to get you to pay. Use the resources on this board and get all your ducks in a row and then fight them. There are a variety of threads on here.

Good luck!

If they left that message, I would get a recoreder and record it so it could be used in a case against them for violating laws.

This company did not file a complaint against you with your state. They are only trying to intimidate you. You should block them from your account and if you still owe on the principal make arrangements to send them payments by money order only.

They are trying to scare you into calling them back and making a payment that they know you can't afford.
