I borrowed money from ITT Financial Company, in 8o's and LVNV is trying to collect on that debt now, is that legal? What can they do? I need advice.

Debt is always collectible until paid. Since it's already too old now to be reported in your credit report unless you make a payment. Send a disputer letter mentioning about the expiry of the SOL and the reporting time frame according to the FCRA. Hence, all collection attempts need to stop.

howard, I need a little help here. I have a charge off on my CR with Capital One. It is showing that the 30 day late was Oct.2003...The SOL in my state is 3 years for open end accounts. Ok, wouldn't that mean that it is out of the SOL as of Oct. 2006???
