Sent letter to allied interstate Collection Agency to validate. American Express sent a account history plus a cancelled check from last year. Stated they couldn't find the original signed agreement? Is this validation? or not?

What state do you live in? Each state has their own statute of limitation on debt collection. Did you make a payment last year? I am not sure that any of them are with in one year time frame. What state do you reside in?

+allied interstate+
If you receive a collection notice from Allied DISPUTE IT! Even though you will never receive a reply, it is important that you use the law to your advantage. Allied aptly fits the saying; "the right hand hasn't a clue what the left hand is doing" Brain-Dead! Idiots! Untrained!
May I state again....THANK GOD FOR THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT!! Someone in Washington must have had a dream about companies like Allied to enact the law. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
WATCH YOUR WALLET, YOUR CHECKBOOK AND YOUR CREDIT CARDS WHEN DEALING WITH THESE SLIPPERY CONS OF THE COLLECTION WORLD, THEY WILL EMPTY YOU OUT!

Here is the link, you can check your states statute of limitation on debt collection.
http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.html
You should be able to find your states information on this page, there is also a link for a sample letter if your statute of limitation has expired. Goodluck.

I thank all of you for your posts. And especially that link regarding allied interstate. I am sort of surprised American EXP would have used them. I live in Georgia. They only sent a copy of a cancelled check, dated 6-6-05 and a printout of payment history. They stated they only have to retain the application 25 months, so no original signed agreement is available. Also stated that they had instructed Allied to only communicate with me by mail. This letter from American EXP is their response to my validation letter sent to Allied. Not sure where I go from here. Thanks to all of you.....

It looks to me like American express has sent validation to you in response to your dv request you sent to Allied.I would call someone in American Express office and work an agreement out to recall debt and pay them direct.

I still stand on my previous post.American Express sent you a account history and cancelled check,so it looks like validation to me. I would implore you to contact original creditor and work this out.
Call them and ask to be reviewed for the oasis program.
With this program, after you have paid your debt back, you will receive a new card and it can be used properly to build credit back up.
If you don't qualify for oasis, make arrangements with Amex.Above posters are correct, you really don't want deal with this collection agency. They have a horrid record with consumers.

hi,
i had a few payday loans, and was paying them back until i happened to run into some bad luck. i started getting threatning phone calls at work. i then found out that payday loans are illegal in my state, and i was able to get in contact with my att. general of my state, and he told me he would take care of them for me. what do you think i should exspect to happen. these companies were taking money from my account anyway. i have closed the account, now im getting phone calls. i wonder if they will leave me alone once he contacts them. one company said that they don't have an address so my att. general would have to fax them.

Calculate the total money you have sent on the pdl accounts. Compare it with your state laws. If you have already paid the principal amount and the company is not licensed in your state, you are not obligated to send any more money. Stand as an informed consumer when the companies call you and get the PIF letter in writing.
