First thing you will need to do is stop the ACH on your account, You can do this by sending them a letter with your account number and tell them you revoke the ach on your checking account, include your checking account number in the letter. At the same time you should send them a revocation of voluntary wage assignment, just in case they slipped this in there on you. That way they can not touch you pay check.
What state are you from? You will need to know this to determine if you are entitled to a refund. Please let us know what state you are from?

Perry it was me that posted. I forgot to sign in!
As to the Fair Debt Collection Act or whatever it is called I thought that applied only to 3rd party collectors such as collection agencies?

As far as I am concerned I paid these people back in December WHEN my loan was due. I took out a $200 loan and paid them back $230 which included the LEGAL amount of interest here in CA.

By the way on a positive note I have paid off all my payday loans. NEVER AGAIN! Now if I could just get GFSIL off my back.......the worst thing is them phoning my boss. SO totally embarassing.

Has ANYONE has any luck in stopping these people calling? They are back to calling me again at work and harassing me. I paid them back the original $200 I owed them plus the legal interest in CA of $30 . They say I owe them varying amounts from 358 to over 500. I can't even understand the latest woman that has called me. She was totally unintelligble and just kept yelling at me. I'm at my wit's end with these people.

I told them that I had reported them to my attorney for harrassment and that they owed me over 1000.00. I also ept e-mailing them to pay me what they owe me. I did report them to the ag here in Ohio and to the FTC and everytime that I emailed gfsil I cc both of the gov. agencies. The last time I heard from them was when I told them that I had talked to my attorney and they were to contact him, I gave them his name and phone mumber. Of course it was my bk attorney but he did tell me to do this. Just keep reporting them, tell them that they are harrassing you and keep e-mailing them. See if that works.

Have you guys sent them letters to stop contacting you at work yet, simply telling them won't work. You need to compose a letter and include the fdcpa law, send it to them certified, let them know they are breaking the law or simply remind them of it, then you have proof when you do sue them.

Fedup, with these people it really doesn't matter if you send them a letter - they have numerous addy's and some are only call centers. I got them by e-mailing a few times a day and reporting them to Homeland Security ICE. I registered a complaint under cyber crimes. The people that used to call me barly spoke English so I am not sure that they could read a letter at any rate. I have not heard from them in a while now, so I don't know if my efforts paid off. I just wish that they would refund me the 1k+ that I over paid. But not having them calling me is a big plus.
