They
continue to call me at work the exact same individual everytime I say I
told you last time do not call me at work she says she has no record.
They
got over 500 dollars out of me because of my lack of knowledge. I
issued a
stop payment on the last 127 and they are harassing me. I told them to
mail me a letter since I started the SOL over when I started paying. I
still have not recieved a letter. I work where any one could answer the
phone and the lady was like I need to speak to Kyra so I said she wasnt
here then she said let me speak to payroll or a manager about wage
garnishment. That was very uncalled for I could have been anyone. How
can
I stop these losers. I only have a number 800-658-1094 Ms Riley<BR>
that I
am suspisious of this could be just someone taken my money
I did a google search on the company name Great Lakes and I found article saying how thay had been prosecuted or something
please help with any suggestions

What is the name of the company?? And exactly what type of company are they??

What company is this? Is this a pdl? Original creditor or third party collector?
Unfortunatly, most of these places can only harrass you to get you to pay. While it may be very illegal, they do it anyways.
They can't garnish your wages without a court order.
Have you sent them a wage assignment revokation letter? What state are you in?

they bought out an old credit card I had. I know I started the SOL over because i made payments

If I am correct, the SOL on CC in Missouri is 5 years. (Please correct me if I am wrong..) To the best of my knowledge that would mean that the SOL is up Dec. 27, 2011. Have you sent them a DV letter yet?? If not, I would also send a C&D letter.

Great lakes is a collection agency that is now NCO Financial. It looks like they have purchased your credit card debt. Get all the information relating to this account and make sure of the last payment being posted towards your account.
