hi i'm angelou.
i'm very much pressured with legal companies calling me already about settling for my 4 credit cards payments. just last aug, i resigned from my 5-yr work to venture into a new career type, employment in a cruise liner based in seattle washington...so for the past 6 months, since i'm from the philippines, all of my savings i had used up for the processing of my papers for employment abroad, i wasn't able to pay contiuously my 4 credit card accountables. thus over the months, my credit had blown up due to big interest rates adding up over my principal...estimate of my debt would already by over US$2000. i don't know what to do anymore. i'm single, young, i want to help my family and make them proud of me, how can i be able to with such pressures these collecting companies are doing to me already? i want a great future... if given the chance to turn back time, i could not had availed of such credit cards...HELP!

I would call each one of your cards and let them know your situation. See if you can work out some payment arrangements. Most credit card companies will work with people to get their debts paid off.

thanks quodah.but the prob s will i be helped by this forum even if im not from US?i'm from the philippines. i did not divulge my plans of going abroad to work to any of these companies because they might withold my chance of working abroad. i had processed already my papers, i'm just waiting for my employer's call, through my shipping agency, so i'm on a waiting stage yet. i don't want to be deprived of such great opportunity just because of these debts! help! =(

We at this forum don't care where you live. We will help you as best we can regardless.
You may want to look into debt consolidation or credit counseling. Both of those programs can help get your interest rates lowered and stop some of the fees. They will help you work with your creditors to get things paid off.
