I just got a call from westbury ventures who said I owed them 2k for a loan I took out over the internet in 05. They had my correct ss#, my maiden name and my current address. None of this is anything I did.does this sound familiar to anyone...is it a scam? they told me I should file a police report and fax it to them

By chance, did you have any loan from PD6 Ventures in the past. They are the same company.

If you are sure the debt WestBury is claiming is not yours, then you must file your complaints with the legal authorities.

Thank-you- not any loans at all...I will file a report. They actually weren't rude to me, he gave me all the info about the loan, including the persons email, checking acct number and routing number.

Be very cautious with them. You need to know from the company on how they got your personal info when you never applied for the loan.

Thank you all...I am not sure who got my personal info...I am obsessive about this stuff. But I have since put a freeze on my credit reporting, reduced the limit on my credit card (only 1 I have) and will contact SS tomorrow...for me it is sad that people are so lost that they need to commit freud. All I can do is protect myself the best I can and keep this particular person in my thoughts and prayers...to be more loving and caring inthe future.

I saw a special on Dateline last night where this was happening. They traced the ID thieves to Nigeria. They actually use an address in a small unheard country in West Africa, because, get this, people are starting to catch on to the Nigeria scams. It is unbelievable. I am really sorry this happened to you. But do be very careful of this company.
