Just some general questions...

I ran into some recent financial troubles (I'm sure you've heard this before, and don't much care), but I ended up taking out two payday loans to push myself through, one from Checksmart in the amount of 100 and the other from Check N Go in the amount of 50. Right now I'm just trying to get back on my feet and starting to get there. This may sound even worse, but I'll be getting a credit card soon and I want to consolidate the two loans onto my credit card, taking care of them with the company and then just paying as I go on my American Express, because it will be easier without the large apr and the ability to make smaller minimum payments. I've only been past-due on the loans for about two weeks, however, SO i was curious if anyone had any information if they'll actually take the card as form of payment instead of a active checking account. I've read over my stuff and know that they can't prosecute off NSF checks, because I got so far behind that my bank account overdrew, but I had a backup bank account that I'm keeping funds in now. I'd just love to have some answers in regards to form of payment accepted.

I know you've heard the same song and dance before, but I just had to do it to keep on living for a short period of time and these people treat me like I'm trash, so I just want to get it out of the way. Any help would be really appreciated.

Of course we all care...thats why we are here! I do not know if they will take a credit card payment because in my experience they the storedronts will only take cash...Any hey...I borrowed way more from PDL's than you so hang in there....Depending on what state you are in there are some states that the law required these places to allow you to make payment arrangements....

I wouldn't mind paying cash but I'm sure the Cash Advance apr I get on my card will be astronomical, probably near 25%. I'll do it if I have to, but it makes me unsettled. Thanks so much!

I think you should call the company and see if they will take the credit card first. I know its unsettling when you have PDL's out there because their collections are so much more aggressive than regular collectors and wish you all the luck in the world getting the matter resolved.

Oh, I wish I had only one $50 and one $100 PLD out! Did you check to see if your credit card comes with a pin number? You could draw cash out of the ATM and pay them in full.

Oh, and did you know you can take a Credit Card into a bank and they can give you funds off of the credit card?

Sara I'm with you...I wish that is all I had out too. I agree that a cash advance may be a good option. The interest rates on cash advances is high but not anywhere near as high as taking out a pdl. ZCFlint, I would strongly advise not giving your cc number to these pdl companies as they are not always that trustworthy and may debit multiple times or take more than you authorized. Many of us on these forums are in or have been in the same boat as you so don't feel bad. We do care, and that is what we are all here for, to help and support each other.

yes, if you can help it, DO NOT GIVE ANYONE ANY INFORMATION. Try to get the cash for the storefronts, and money orders for the online companies. Protect all of your information.

Yeah, that is right, don't give these hounds your credit card information. they will rob it dry, they are vicious. You should investigate the different ways in this post to pull money from your card. Maybe once you pay them off and get a few paychecks coming in, you can pay more towards your credit card to make up the difference. whatever you decide, goodluck!

I appreciate it. Taking a look at the situation and reading these boards, a 28% apr isn't the worst thing in the world to deal with, and I'd prefer to take care of the loans with cash or cashier's check, whatever it takes. Both are storefront loans and hopefully, since it is relativley early in the collections process, I'll be able to take care of them at the store front. But I defintly wouldn't want to give them my acct. info, checking or credit. Thanks so much--ya'all are a god send!

Yes the storefront pdl's will take a check from the bank. SO you could take your cc there and tell the bank that you want so much on a cashiers check made out to so and so. Then they will charge your card for that.

But did you know that the stroe front one should accept payment arrangements and when they do they should stop all interest. But your check had to go back nsf first. Thats what I did. but my amounts through store fronts was over $5000. And they have been taking payments from me and the only extra fees you would get would be a nsf charge and a late payment charge and it would be a 1 time charge.
