Hi, I receive a letter from a collection agency under midland credit management base on San Diego CA for the amount of 1597.93.Its about my old credit card account from First consumer national bank. I check my credit report this year and this account was already deleted. These are the listing from last year in my trans union report. Can you tell me if this out of the SOL period?

The account has to be out of the SOL if it's already deleted by one of the bureaus.

Do you know the date of last activity?

The SOL in California is 4 years. It sounds like they're trying to collect on an old debt which they purchased. There's a lot of this going on lately it seems - the purchasing of debts on which the SOL has run. But, if they can get only just a few people to pay, they've made a profit.
