PostPosted: Thu Apr 26, 2007 3:09 pm Subject: A new project

Alright guys and gals,
I am starting a new project for this section here. I want anyone who has ever had a payday loan to post in this topic the following please:
1.Who it is and where they are located.
2.How much was loan and how much they fleeced you for.
3.Your state of residence.
4. Opinion of customer service.
5.Who and where is collector if in default.

Now that everyone is wondering why I am being so nosy, here is my project.I want to take this data and start dumping it on every state and federal legislator I can look up.I will be cc the Ftc of course. These payday companies need to be put away and this is an angle that we can get started on. Post and give me your opinions please.

Approximatly:
Advance America - Storefront - $350 loan/Paid back $1100
Check into Cash - Storefront - $200 loan/Paid back $800
Cashnetusa - Internet - Located in Utah? - $200/Paid back $600
Urgent Cash Advance - Internet - Don't remember location - $200/Paid back $600
Cash Central - Internet - Utah - $300/Paid back $1000
Cashnet500 - Internet - Utah - $350/Paid back $350
Payday OK - Internet - Don't remember location - $200/Paid back $850
Route 66 - Internet - UK - $200/Paid back $395
AIP - Internet - Deleware - $200/Paid back $267
There's one more I can't remember the name of right now . . . .

All the customer service was lacking, but Route 66 was the worst, with cashnet500 coming in second to worst. The others once I finally found the right person were able to help me.

I live in Oregon.

None of mine were ever sent to an outside collector, although it was threatened by a few.

All of mine are now taken care of, except for Route 66 which I haven't heard from in months, and cashnet500, which refused to mark me PIF even after intervention from my state's banking dept. Neither company has contacted me in months and neither loan is reported anywhere as outstanding.

I never knew much about pdls, but it sounds like loan sharking to me. Funny, how they get away with it, but for the mafia it's illegal. They must pay off various state legislatures as well. I have read of several state which inacted tougher laws on pawn shops, but left the pdls alone.

WTG cajun....my contribution is at the end of my post. There are 2 hotlinks that take you to a site where you can locate congressmen and senators for each state. Of course you probably already have this info. but just in case here they are!

No real rush but the quicker I get some real meat, the quicker I can start harassing some legislators in Washington DC. One point I want in this is to force them to legislate federal regulations on this type of business. If we can get some federal laws passed on this,we may have a chance of getting rid of them altogether.

Believe it or not I would have to say that Arrowhead treated me very good when I talked to Liz.
Loanshop was good with settling my account.
Advance America has been treating me VERY good (I think you can see why, I was a customer there for YEARS.
National sucked when they merged with advance america.
As for Bass & Ass. and Untied Pay Services they are bad news, threatening people and scaring them into paying. I would say those were the worst.
So to date I have paid $50994.50 on loans that total only $10788.00 Embarassed That is 3/4's of a years take home pay. How sad is that Crying or Very sad
