Is this a good thing

One of my storefront pdl's was sueing me and the court date was 4/23. I had previously informed them that I was filing Chapter 7 and had not heard from them. When I got the summons, I contacted the pdl and told them again that I was filing for Chapter 7 and they were included. Today when I got home from work I had a letter from the court that states and I quote "Dismissed on Plantiff's Oral Motion without prejudice". I am not sure - is this a good thing?

Hmm.. you definitely need some legal advice from an attorney.

Is there anything mentioned in the paper saying that you need to file a motion to dismiss within a certain date?

I think that I would be the defendant and the pdl is the plaitiff. So wouldn't that mean that the case is dropped?

I would think this means the plaintiff verbally told them he would not be pursuing it. I would call the courthouse just to make sure.

Thanks Dbaker - the paper says that it is a journal entry. It has a number on it so I will check tomorrow on the web site.

I agree. I think that means the pdl place dropped the case since you told them you were filing bankruptcy.

Probably finally contacted your attorney and found that it is included in your bankruptcy case. They couldn't sue, so it was dismissed.
