|

I've been reading about doing this....I plan on sending them a letter certified but I do have the fax number for A S & Associates. I just think it would be faster if they got it by fax then I back it up with a certified letter? Has anyone ever done this?

Send it both ways. There is a possibility that they will not keep their fax machine on if they don't want to receive any correspondence from you. Besides, the confirmation slip of the sent fax holds very less importance in the court. The receipt of the certified letter is the best when you are forcing any CA to follow the FDCPA.

I would think that they would ignore the fax but it can't hurt to send it anyway. But for a few bucks you can send your letter via certified priority mail and they will get it in 2 days and they will take notice of the special packaging.

I agree with sending the letter. My stupid fax machjine gets tempermental and there are times that I know a fax is coming in, but it never registers on my computer. You could try both ways, but I would def also do the letter to be on the safe side.

I have done it both ways in the past as well. A lot of CA's will have an 800 # for a fax number.

I think that a partial cease and desist letter is for them to only contact you by email or USPS...I could be wrong but I think I read that somewhere.

Could you fax a partial 1 then send the real thing certified?

I don't see why you couldn't. That is what I would do.
