my boyfriend and i opened a checking account and he was the main one , i was the under him. we had different names. even if i wrote the payday loan checks ,,,am i totaly responsible for them. when he was with me they were written,( he knew what he was doing}. he skipped we were married for 6 weeks.

bren...welcome...I believe if both your names are on the checks then both of you are responsible for the account. If you wrote the check for the payday loan you will be responsible for it...also when you took the loan out was it just in your name??

Do you still have the bank account?? If he skipped out on you...and you are keeping the account you will need to notify the bank...so that he can't just go and write all kinds of checks..get it in your name only. I am assuming this is a store front loan...call them and explain the situation, ask them if you can make some other arrangements to pay off the loan.
