Yes , it sounds like you would be an excellent candidate. Be sure when shopping with company's to look them up on the BBB . Make sure they have a good track record.

Hello,

Whether or not you are eligible for debt settlement is based on many factors and cannot be simply answered. Are any accounts already in arbitration or have you received a summons?

Definately get some debt counseling and the BBB is not always the best resource for reputable companies. For example, in California, BBB gives all debt settlement companies an "F" rating whether or not they have had complaints or not. Our BBB Commissioner does not like Debt Settlement. These are not federally mandated organizations, and therefore depending on different states, BBB ratings may not be your best source for reputable companies...pay for a rating, is not the best resource in my experience.

What do you look for then?
Speak with counselors...do they answer all of your concerns? Good and Bad? Do they disclose everything up front? Do they advise you that debt settlement or consumer credit counseling does damage your credit? Do they disclose any fees and/or monthly dues up front? Do they have a system in place where you can track all money transactions? Is their service level outstanding and easily reachable? Do they educate you through the process? Do they offer continual counseling? These are what you need to look for. All companies want your business, all companies do not operate equally.

Hope this brings some light to your concern.

Kindest Regards,

Sandra
