Dear Bugsas,

At first glance to the number of years it seemed to me that the SOL of your debt has lapsed. But after checking it I found out that in Pennsylvania the SOL for old credit card debt is 6 years. So, your debt is still within this period.

First of all I want to tell you that they can’t put you behind bar. By calling your parents and threatening them, they have already breached fdcpa guidelines.

If you wish then you can make a formal complain to: -

Federal Trade Commission,
Bureau of Consumer Protection,
Office of Consumer & Business Education,
Washington, DC 20580.

Phone: - (202) 326-3650.

You can also contact the Attorney General of your state, Consumer Protection Office.
