Well thanks to James Lombardo, we are now being sued by Citi Bank. He was supposed to be working on settlements, but didn't follow through and the account was written off. Does anyone know how I respond to the suit?

I think you have no other option but to pay Citi Bank's debt...but in the court at the time of appearance you can say your problem regarding the Lombardo fiasco and the consequent fallout. I think a reduced payment scheme might be acquired.

But I'm not sure about this...other members may help you better

Do you have any funds that you can negotiate with? Even if you try to negotiate, you definitely need to answer the court papers and appear in court, unless you can get them to drop the suit and you receive documentation from the court.

Have you rec'd a civil summons from your district court? Captial One has decided to sue me in small claims court for $900.00! I had twenty days to respond (in my defense) to the court in writing and they in turn let the attorney know my intention.Like a dummy I listened to an attorney who advised me that it was highly unlikely that the creditors would sue for anything under $2500.00 but that is not true. They are getting more aggressive with their collecting and I am proof they will go after you.

You will likely need to work something out and I would suggest you bring every scrap of info you can find on the Sifxpert fiasco. That should show cause for the judge to make them work with you.
