My boyfriend just got a call from a bill collector for a pay day loan company and they told him that he "had" to get a pre-paid visa to pay it back or else they would turn it over to the district attorney's office

Was it store front or internet?
Internet lenders tend to be ruthless and will say anything to get the money back. Just think of it this way. Why would they call you before they file. I would seem kind of crazy when you think about it. Plus you have to pay with pre-paid visa..
