Can a lawfirm garnish my wages for debt?

no...the court can and it depends on the state you live in. For instance, no creditor can garnish wages in the state of Pa.

Unless you live in a state that doesn't allow garnishment, if the law firm sues you and wins a judgment, then they could probably get a garnishment to pay the judgment.
