Hi. I have about 3 pay day loans out which I have received very unprofessional calls at work about unpaid pay day loans. 1st the reps told me I must pay by check. I explained how I no longer have an account then weeks later they said I must pay by money gram & a certain amt. No they are saying I will be served at work by a uniformed officer. Is this true? Can I still pay the loan. I'm willing to do whatever I mean I understand I must pay but can I make payments? Can they really summons me at work?

A uniformed officer? Sounds like an empty threat, scare tactic. Provide us with more info and we will be better able to help you.

i would check your state laws in regards to recording calls.that sounds like a threat of arrest as only the sheriff can serve someone and it is only a summons.provide the information shazzers asked for.we can and will help you here.

All internet based loans I do not have the names of the companies, however I do have them at home & would be able to provide you with that information later today or tomorrow. They have asked me to pay the full amt. Partials were not accepted and if I didn't pay by the date given I would be served by a uniformed officer at work. I'm willing to pay just can't pay all at once or the date that was given

Nicole you should contact the California Department of Corporations. They are going after a bunch of internet lenders right now.

Technically, *IF* they filed a lawsuit, they could attempt to serve the summons at your job. First service in some locales is made by a sheriff; but I think they would try serving you at home first.

Since this is an internet PDL, it is more likely an empty threat than anything.
