Hello,
I am finally feeling the heat of my past credit history and have been unemployed for the last 3 months. I currently have about 15,000 in debt and my credit score is 529. I was wondering how would go about and getting a loan to consolidate my debt or to ask my creditors a lower rate. Any information, guidance, and help would be greatly appreciated.

You wont get a loan with that score, particularly in this economy. Even with a job and a decent score, it would almost be impossible to get a loan of that size without collateral.

You might want to look into a debt management program or contact your local CCCS.

thanks so what is a reputable debt management program I can get into. And how can pay off my debt without the use of a loan? I appreciate the quick response.

Welcome to the Community Here is a link that explains some ways to get out of debt at http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/debt-solution.html it will give you an idea of what may work for you.

Sometimes even getting a loan to pay off debt is not the answer. I have done it in the past and it worked, because we knew we could pay off the loan with some money we had coming. Then, years later, we did it again, and got into even a bigger mess.

Feel free to ask questions, we are here to help..karen
