We are about $72,000.00 in credit card debt. We pay all our bills on time but it takes every last penny and we sometimes have to use more credit to buy groceries. We still have several cards on zero percent or low interest but I am so tired of stressing and worrying about money. I'm wondering if would be better to just ruin our credit - the debt to income ratio is already lowering our score. I'm not sure, though, if I should just stop paying my cards and have some cash to buy necessities, then try to settle. I hate to ruin my credit but I don't see any light at the end of this tunnel. I'd love to rant and rage about how moving to Mississippi has killed us financially but I suppose it's irrelevant. Among several other issues, there aren't many options or programs that will help us because we live in this state. We've tried to get out of debt ourselves by paying down one card at a time but it seems that any time we have extra cash, a new bill for some random thing arrives. The state insurance is terrible and, as much as we try not to get sick, a doctor visit for something small and simple costs us hundreds of dollars on top of the $400 a month we pay for it. We really need some cash for these unexpected expenses. We don't buy anything we don't need. Any suggestions for us?
