anyone know who Kevin Peterson is or this number 312-422-5133 he just called and said we were in big trouble for bank freud and the police would be coming to my addy and them he read of my addy to me but he wouldn't tell me who he is with.....any ideas?

Is it possible this could be regarding a payday loan? This sounds like one of their threats.

Bank fraud & arrest are not going to happen when it comes to a payday loan. Defaulting on a payday loan is not going to lead to jail time.

If this is for a payday loan, can you let us know what state you are in, how much the loan was & how much you've paid on it...and what company it's with? With that info, we can help you out with some advice.

A couple of searches on that phone number came up as unlisted, but located in Chicago.

You know, I constantly find it amusing how these places are telling you that they are going to have you arrested for this or that....I would think if someone is going to be arrested for bank fraud or whatever that they would not let the intended arrestee (sp) know, (which would give a real ciminal a chance to get away), and just do it.

Lostlady, do provide what suebee has asked for. It will give us a better chance to help you out of your situation. But as far as the going to jail threat, I wouldn't put much stock into it.

Iam in the state of Pennsylvania yes it probably is a pay dat loan but Iam not sure which one it is I have several...also I have turned them all into the AG office awaiting to hear back from them...Iam trying to find out which one it is thanks for any help u can give me

it appears you have overpaid on some of these loans.

The one thing I would warn you about is to be careful of the PA payday lending law - a lender does not have to be licensed in the state of PA to lend there, but they do have to be licensed in their own state. It's a crazy loophole that causes a lot of heartache for PA consumers. So, don't count on their not being licensed in PA to be the way to fight these.

Kevin Peterson called and wouldn't let me talk. He said he was from an attorney's office and that I was being sued for fraudlent activity. He threatened that there would be a police officer at my house in one hour and if I have kids that I had better get them out of there because CPS would take them. First off. You DO NOT threaten me with my kids. He said that I should never taken the loan out if I couldn't afford to pay it back. Excuse me... I took the money out to cover the copay for my son's heart surgery and second of all. ALL payments were on time until I learned the laws (by this website) and that i had paid $750 on a $300 loan. And than he went there. He told me that if the cops showing up to take me away and the stress kills me son it will be my fault.. I couldn't help it. I called him a not soo nice name told him to NEVER call me again and that I am calling the BBB, AIG office, and anyone else I can think of to make sure that company is shut down and he NEVER has the chance to threaten anyone like that again... AARRGHHH!!! Being a heart mom and on the board for a local heart support group I have knowN many children that have died and it is always in the back of my mind that one day it could be my child. ANYWAYS!!! Sorry for the long soap box. Who all do I need to contact. Oh, he said the company he was "REPRESENTING" was Debt Dr. which i think is Magnum. Is that right???

OMG....these creeps just never stop! I'd love to reach right through the phone and slap them one. I wish you could have recorded that call!

Make SURE you quote that call and his horrible words about your son when you complain! File those complaints today!! Make sure you have all the correct info on the company first - it will be required on the complaint.

OK, they have now officially crossed the line. I don't care if you've borrowed $300 or $3000 you don't threaten not only arrest but the death of your kids!!! And like Suebee said, if they really were coming to get you, would they give you a heads up on it first, allowing you to get away?? Please!! I hope this man is bitch-slapped!!

This a**-hole called my job and told my boss that I was going to be arrested. I almost lost my job yesterday. The weired thing is that the payday loan hes talking about is already paid off. What can I do in this case. He's company took over the loan when I defaulted but I paid the original company. I need to ge this guy off me. The loan was for 300 he told me I need to pay 850 to get it off me and that the name of his company was called United Process Division. I know that cant be the name.

WHAT MAKES THESE PEOPLE TICK? I'm sitting here reading all this and I cannot believe that they are allowed to do this!!! Dear God how do these people live with themselves?

I have all of you in my prayers. God knows we need them.

Please someone tell me what kind of people are they? Why don't the laws pertain to them and they are continuing to do this to people? I don't care you owe money. Everyone owes money and there's a right way to collect it.

As far as wishing death......isn't that a terroristic threat and you can call that into your local PD? I would call the PD and find out and call the phone company and anyone else.

OK, I have heard enough about this guy. Please file a complaint with the FTC for violating the fdcpa. This guy should be arrested. Does anyone know who he really works for. In another thread he called someone smartie pants. We have to stop this guy. How can you send a cease and desist letter to someone who uses a phony company name.
