I closed my account due to PDLs that won't stop debiting my account. I opened a new one, with a new bank (its even in a new state, since I moved).
My question is, I'm using my new account to auto pay my car insurance. My insurance company is a well known agency, so I'm not worried about them selling any sort of information. Is there any way any of the old PDLs (Geneva Roth in particular) to get my new account info. I was told they think they can debit any account I have, anywhere I have it.

Nope, you should be perfectly safe with your new account. If you ever do see something hit your account that is unauthorized, simply go to your bank manager and inform them that it was an unauthorized debit and demand that it be reversed. But you shouldn't have a problem at all - the PDL's are account-number based, so you'd have to give them your new account number for them to access it.

Be sure about the company to whom you give out your new account info in the future. Most pdl companies are affiliated with each other. Sometimes companies share database of consumer's info for advertising purposes.

Wouldn't the info they share on the database be limited info, such as, name, address, etc. They wouldn't share banking info, would they?

You're right. But a company that known for doing illegal things with consumers can go up to any extent and pull bank information. That is not supposed to happen, but I fear it does. Companies like Route 66 Funding, GFSIL, Sonic Payday etc can go up to any extremes and recover the info.

Yes you can be safe knowing that your account information will not be leaked out to those vultures. Just don't give out your information to many people and not over the phone! No company can debit your account without your permission. You should be okay.

Thanks for all the information. I figure if I keep all my banking info away from all sorts of PDLs, then I should be good.
