Today I just got a debt consolidation and that covered a good majority of my bills and I was able to pay several other ones with the loan money left over. My question is they said this will help my credit I just want to make sure that it is not going to be a negative? Second question I plan to get my own apartment after my current lease is up and I have a previous dent on my credit from my old roommates who I left in the apartment when I left, funny I thought four grown adults with jobs could pay a rent of $540. Anyways the question is since this is on my credit and 2 other items now, will this hinder me from getting a place? How can I get a lot of the stuff, that is paid removed, if that is even possible?

I am in Tennessee and I am looking for a company to use to consolidate my loans. What company did you use if you do not mind me asking?

Hang on! both of you! someone will soon come to help you guyz.
However, I guess that debt consolidation don't improve your credit score immediately. It remains on your credit report for a while but gets wiped off afterwards. But you should wait for more concrete info.

Hi
In my opinion not paying your bills affects your score the most. By consolidating your bills ensure lower interest rates as well as feasible monthly payments....it will thus help you in paying off your bills as early as possible.
Another advantage that consolidation has is a single monthly payment. After consolidating you do not have to think about paying to different creditors, you just have to make one single payment. It reduces the chances of missed and late payments. And remember any late payment will lower down your score further.
Tracey you can get help from the free consultation offered by the site.
Take care

They could also register and exchange info using the PM feature.

Existing balances: try to negotiate a pay for delete agreement.
Paid lates/collections: try writing a goodwill letter (either ask for positive reporting, or a deletion) first and foremost. They are a hail mary, but they do occasionally work. When those do not succeed, try disputing with the credit bureaus, if one attempt fails, dispute for a different reason.
