I received a letter today from Brachfeld Law Group stating they are working with LVNV Funding LLC regarding an unpaid debt of $2,100 (originally $1,500) and they are willing to settle for $850 but it is due in their hands in 3 days.
All account information appears to be correct.
Is this on the up & up and should I just pay it?
I'm trying to keep up but I don't want to be buffaloed either.
What should I do?

Are you really sure that Brachfeld is working with LVNV? Though the account information appears to be correct, yet it will be better if you're 100% sure about it.

Several forum members have shared their experiences with this law firm. You can know about them from this page:

you get a DV(debt validation)letter to this so-called law firm asap.send it certified mail return receipt.bottomline they are trying to rush you into a payment when there are a couple of things in question.

1)LVNV is a JDB on some debts.this is one of them.

2)the letter i'm guessing had no verbiage stating that the dedt will be considered paid and will not be sold,or assigned.get that in writing before paying a thing.

so do not pay this.send brachfield the DV see SOAPLADY'S signature for the template, and send it certified mail.bottomline they are trying to rush you to pay,but they do have a habit of passing the rest of the debt on,and you don't want/need that.
