Default Everest Debt Solutions

I recently completed the program with Everest Debt Solutions and can say that they helped save me from the ruins of bankruptcy. When I first looked for options I consulted with various companies however once I talked with a real person who understood my needs at Everest I knew I found the right program for me. Thank you David, Brandi and Darren for all of your help!

I also recently started with Everest Debt Solutions. I've only been with them about a month but I'm wondering, when a settlement offer is presented, how long are you usually given to come up with the funds? I mean, obviously if you're not with the program very long, there's not much balance in your trust account. The reason I joined with them was to lower my payments because I've been struggling and if an offer comes in and there's no money in the trust, I'm back in the same situation. Can you give me any advice from those of you who've finished this program or are nearing the end?

Default Hi Guest!

During the first 90 days the program was rough and i had my doubts. very little monies had accumulated and i was nervous. After talking to client services about a dozen times they explained that this is normal and i should be very successful. Turned out they were right as right can be. I have 3 payments left on my account with EDS but i got a settlement offer on the 10th of July that could wrap things up early.

Hang in there!

Thanks Steve! Can I ask how many accounts you enlisted with them and how long you've been with them? I have a 30 month agreement and 3 accounts so I'm worried if an offer comes in on one within 6 months or something, I won't have enough time to come up with the settlement. Have you found are they pretty reasonable with proposing enough time to get the funds? I'm sure it wouldn't happen THAT quickly, but that's my biggest worry now. With a 30 month agreement and the potential to have it shortened with settlement offers, having it done earlier is GREAT, but coming up with extra funds may be hard. Thanks and I'm glad you've had success and I'm sure I will too!

We have been working with EDS since about March, my husband is the one that said we should try it, I was a little nervous about it and probably will be until we settle our first account. From what I understand they don't start calling the creditors until we have a certain amount in our account. Does this mean that they wont be calling some of the higher creditors for a year or longer??? We are enrolled for a total of 32 months and I think we had 5 accounts. Also, does anyone know about how long the creditor calls come? We generally screen them as directed by EDS, but we probably get up to 20 a day!

The calls will always come in because the creditors do have the right to attempt to collect the debt. I think you can send them a letter to tell them to only send you mail but it doesn't always work. I asked Client services about that and they said it couldn't hurt but not all of them listened or even read the letter. I find it hard to believe that EDS wouldn't call on the larger creditors they seem to do a really good job with communication and keeping on top of things. I have several large accounts and I haven't had issues other than calls and letters. Call client services this week and ask them.

Thanks, Jenn for the info. I didn't know how that would work if they waited until we had all of our money in the account before they settled the larger accounts or if they started calling before that. Have they settled any accounts for you yet? I agree, they seem to be very on top of things and call us every month before our payment is due to make sure we don't have any questions. Like I said, I think once we settle our first account I'll have a little more peace of mind.

Yes we have. Several small accounts less than 5,000 and one large account of 47,000 with B Of A. We only paid a 15% settlement to B of A and that saved us close to 17,000 in settlement payments. EDS even offered to help us pay for the settlement if we couldn't come up with the money because they felt this was going to be a one time offer on our account. We gathered every penny we had and we covered the settlement and we are thrilled. I wish all of the debt settlement companies did good work like Everest it would have made it easier for me to get started sooner and I could have been done by now.

WOW Jenn, that's great! I have three accounts and only one is over 5000. We've only just started with EDS and they've been very communicative. I don't know that we'll be able to come up with any additional funds should they settle before we have enough money saved up so I'm wondering, generally, how long have your accounts given you to come up with the settled amount? To me, I thought that's why we have an agreed upon time frame?. Have any of the accounts agreed to settle but yet accept payments on that amount? You said they were willing to help you collect the funds for the great low settlement. . . is this common? That maybe they pay upfront what you don't have available and then the rest of your payments go towards paying EDS back? Is that one reason for the length of the program they put you in? I hope we have as great of an experience as you've had.

Hi girls! I see you are all talking about EDS!
I joined the program back in April. I have not settled one account yet but we just sold our 3rd vehicle and came up with $2,800 in extra funds to give them... so I have my fingers crossed that they will be able to work something out with our creditors. I am a little nervous though, because last month we were served summons papers from Wells Fargo. 2 of the cards in the program are for Wells. We haven't had to go to court or anything YET, so I am hoping this extra money will be able to get Wells Fargo off our backs and EDS will get them to settle on one or both accounts.
Anyways, my question to any of you is....
Do any of you have a Wells Fargo card in the program? Have you settled with them yet? AND have any of you been served papers?
I have high hopes for EDS. Like I said, we have only been with them for 5 months but besides the summons so far so good. EDS is easy to talk to and I like that they call every month.
So any extra help or info. on this matter would be greatly appreciated from any of you!

I recently joined EDS in April of this year. I have not settled an account yet but I feel hopeful that EDS will work out for us. I have a question though....
To all of you who have settled on some of your credit cards... which creditors were they. I have heard Chase and Bank of America took settlements but I have not heard of Wells Fargo taking any settlements? I ask because 2 of our cards in the program are Wells and I know EDS is working on putting together an offer to them. (we just came up with $2,800 in extra funds by selling our 3rd vehicle)
I am nervous that Wells is not going to take a settlement off since they have served us with summons papers?!
Any advice or info. or even an opinion on this would be helpful! Thanks everyone.

We have a Wells in the program, we have been with EDS since February and haven't settled anything yet. EDS hasn't settled anything for us yet. Wells makes me a little nervous too, we haven't been served anything, but they have been calling more and more. They even have been calling my husband at work a lot, so hopefully that doesn't cause problems for him there. I keep trying to figure out how we can get extra funds to move a long a little quicker, but I guess we will have to keep our fingers crossed!

Default Wells Fargo Settlements

I too am an existing client of EDS but going back about 2 years. Some of what you are experiencing is to be expected. I cannot mention anything negative seeing how we did avoid going Bankrupt. Wells Fargo was very difficult to deal with initially and we did not see many results for some time. I will check my records but I believe 9-10 months into the program we received our first offer from them. From what we learned Wells has a long standing policy to ignore and harass card holders that use settlement firms to resolve their debts. Why this is we do not know however we did end up settling for a reasonable sum less than what we planned for. Customer service at EDS was always kind and courteous and after all is said and done we are happy with what we got from EDS.

I have been with EDS since June. I get SEVERAL calls a day from unknown or unrecognized numbers and I DO screen all my calls. Out of all these calls, maybe one a day or less seems to leave a message. As I've explained to the credits we are working with EDS, I haven't returned any calls. Have any of you ran into any problems with not returning calls to the credits? EDS said by law we do not have to speak with them verbally, we have the right to only communicate in writing. I write down how often I get these calls (even though until recently I didn't know who was calling). How long do these continuous, annoying calls last? I would think since I've told them I'm working with EDS and gave them their number, AND the fact we've been with them for a couple months, the creditors would start dealing directly with them in the future? How long does that take?

Default Everest Debt Relief

Even though you are asking the creditors to call EDS they may be calling them and harassing you at the same time. Calls from creditors can be annoying however they do that the right to contact you regarding your debt owed to them. EDS has always been upfront and honest with me and my husband. We too were highly aggitated by the calls seeing how they are trained to call us at the worst times. Keep plugging away and remember that you can speed up the process by getting more money faster to settle the accounts sooner than later.

Hang in there EDS is a god-send.
