Welcome to the Community If you are asking about calling creditors when you cannot make your payments, the answer is yes.
Are these the original creditors or collection agencies?
I have called mine in the past and explained I couldn't make my payments-they were pretty helpfull. Also, if you are continually having problems, see if they will drop or lower your interest-many have a hardship program.
If none of these work, if you signed up for the free credit counseling, someone will contact you and discuss options you may have.
Feel free to ask questions, we are here to help..karen

Thanks.
I did that with several creditors (original), but got referred to debt consolidators many times. My next step is to send them each a letter stating the problem. Have you had experience with this?

I have never had an original creditor refer me to debt consolidation!! Is your debt large, and do you owe many?
You can always take the free consultatin, and see what they have to offer if they won't work with you- you are free to choose an option or not..karen
