? ABOUT debt consolidation
Hi
When you go into a debt consolidation program is this where you have to have all your credit cards past due? or can they start with only some being past due. I'm worried about the calls at work.
Thanks

Every debt consolidation company has different requirements. It is usually the amount of debt that you have that helps them determine your qualification. Usually around 10k. It is better to start when you are not past due as it will keep your credit score higher. Did you opt for the free consultation when you joined this site?

You can get started with the consolidation plan even if you are current. However, if you are behind, consolidation will help you in catching up with the payments with interest rates dropped down.
Settlement programs require the accounts to be in defaults.
