If you are unable to pay all the debts simultaneously, pay attention to those accounts with the highest balance and with highest interest rate. Are you dealing with storefront lenders? I will give them maximum priority because they don't spend much time in filing a legal case upon not receiving the payments. See all your accounts and call the lenders for payment arrangements.

Here is a link to your state's pdl laws. If these are internet pdls and you have been paying on them for quite some time it may be you have already paid back the principal and legal interest rate your state allows. If this is the case, you should demand they mark your account paid in full, block them from your account, or you may have to close and open a new one in order to gain back control. Also, if these are internet pdls, you need to file complaints with your state's Attorney General's office as well as the AG office in which the ipdls are located.

Also, if they are storefront pdls, they are licensed. You should contact them to make payback arrangements with them. Since they are licensed they could take you to court to get a civil judgement against you for default. In the case of the internet pdls, they are going to threaten you with illegal threats of arrest, and fraud charges. This is a lie and you should not allow them to intimidate you with these threats.

Read all the pdl lessons posted by people in these forums. Everyone has their own experiences and you will find solutions of almost every situation. Follow Steelers advice. She has given the crux of the matter.

If you think you won't be able to tackle the situation, take consultation from a debt expert. He will explain everything step by step and if you need to enroll in one of the debt management programs, he will help you in getting started.
