I had a payday loan through CashNetUSA. I got it in December of 2006. The loan was for 400.00. I made 4 payments in the amount of 100.00 a piece, so 400.00 total. I am in Oregon, and Oregon law only allows three rollovers. I defaulted after making the 400.00 payments. Now they are threatening me, and say I owe them 635.00. Oregon law Only allows one 25.00 overdraft fee. Am I legally obligated to pay all of this. They are licensed in Oregon, but come on 635.00 for a 400.00 loan that I have paid 400.00 on.

Perhaps they are pulling one over on you?? I defaulted on my loan and they did everything legally regarding my state laws....How much of those payments were rollover fees? How much went to the principle?

I am not sure what went to principle, and what was interest, but I do know that they rolled it over more than the allowed 3 times.

Since they are a legally licensed company in Oregon the banking dept can really help you with this one. Call them and tell them that this company allowed you to rollover your loan 4 times. When the company is legally licensed the state has a lot more power to wield then when they aren't licensed. Call (503) 378-4140 and ask to talk to Charles Donald, he is the one in charge of payday loans for Oregon and he can probably help you.
