The short answer is yes they can, depending on your state's laws regarding collections liens. However, your creditors and/or their collection agency would need to go to court and show that the only way to get their money. They cannot put a lien on your house or any other property without a judgment.

hi sarah it is not a good idea to walk away form you debts how ever answering your question if it is a secured credit card then it will be attached to a lien either your car house or anything of value how ever if it is an unsecured debt in that case all the creditor can do is sue you in order to get back the money or try collection efforts or garnish your wages but they will not be able to get a lien on you property if it is not attached to the card and there can be no new lien once you have already taken out the laon and finished sigining the papers
