Creditors are not required to follow the C&D rule. This is applicable on collection agencies only under the fdcpa. However, you can pick their phone and place a formal request not to call at work. Make yourself available at the alternative number and don't let them get annoyed. They call because they want to get their money back so get the arrangements done in the fair way if they are doing fair business.

jess you can find the template letter on my blog site, please feel free to tweak it for your own personal use. It never hurts to try is my thoughts the worst thing that happens is nothing, but nothing will happen if you don't try.

A friend of mine is being totally harass by a collection agency. My friend cannot pay his hospital bill and they the hospital has sent the debt to a third party collection agency. Now every Saturday without fail, my friend gets a loud knock on his door for a long period of time then the guy just sits in his vehicle and looks at where my friend lives and stays there for awhile. If that isn't harrassment I like to know what is!!!!! Anyway, please let us know on how we can help our friend out in this situation. Thank you.
