I looked at my credit report and I have I mean horrible horrible report--I would like to find a way to pay off these items but, I am under-employed meaning I am making less than minimun wage and I think that my report is keeping me from getting the employment that I am qualified for.

Do a search on this site for cleaning up your credit report. One of the things I have read on here is that you must check your state SOL dates. I believe bad or old accounts drop off after 7 years...if you reach out and make a payment, that opens it up again and the time starts over...also check over in the forum for credit repair...that might have more info for you.

Jone,
How can you make more than minimum wage? Where are you located?

I was wondering the same thing, bflow. The only legitimate employment I know of where an employee can make less than minimum is being a waiter/waitress, where they make tips. Unless that has changed in recent years...it's been a while since I was in the restaurant business, and at that time the waitstaff was making $2.10 an hour plus tips.

Regardless of what you are making, check out your credit report again, and make sure there are no inaccurate items reported there. Dispute anything that is not accurate - that's a start. Then try to set things in order by contacting your creditors to see if you can work out a payment arrangement based on your income.

You cannot make less than Federal Minimum Wage and some states have a higher minimum wage than the federally regulated one unless you are a waiter/waitress, in which case you should get tips plus a base (used to be $2 and some change per hour)You really need to check into that if you are not a waiter/waitress.

Our hospital does a credit check, however, we don't actually pull the credit record for review or a score, etc. We only pull the identity verification to make sure you are who you say you are. When I get a record it just states your name, address and what other names you have used.
What types of jobs are you applying for that actually rate your credit for employment? I know that some banks do that, etc. Who else would do that? I'm just curious, sorry.
