I signed up for the free debt counseling on this site and they reccommended Superior Debt Relief. But after reading through lots of others posts, I see there are complaints about them too. Is there such a thing as an honest company? I have not signed up with anyone yet, but need help to find an honest one that will do what they say and help me get out of debt. So far I have checked out Superior Debt Relief, DMB, Curadebt, Debt Settlement USA and Allegro Law LLC. I have no idea who to do with. I need help and soon.

Hi MJT, do some research of your own before signing the papers with them. Check their status with the BBB.

I have found I believe to be a reputable company out of Florida. They have a great rating with the bbb and have searched here and other places and have found nothing bad against them. I am pleased so far with my dealings with them.
Cornerstone Financial Counselors
Good Luck.

I am with James Lombardo of Sifxpert for 2 month. He settled ~70K of my debt all pre-charge off (180 days past due). I sill have ~70k left to settle. He charges 20% of what I SAVED on each account settled. I am very happy with him now.

Like mentioned above-do your research before signing with anyone. I am sure there are honest companies out there. You just gotta do your homework. But even then I am reading, one company may be a blessing for some and a nightmare for another. Have you thought about doing it yourself?

I just signed up with Hess Kennedy. I have about 18K in cc debt. I am less than 30 days late on each but have been "robbing Peter to pay Paul" for about a year and couldnt keep up the pace. The contract states I pay $450 for 2 months and then $260 for 36 months. It all sounded great and I have the take the monthly payment out of my checking account automatically. So far so good but it's only been a month. THEN, I seached the company online and there is a lot of bad stuff on the we about them. The BBB gave them and "F". Yikes! I am scared now. Any advise?
