Credit Cards

I had problems with payday loans and closed my checking account. I let the other creditors (credit cards) know what was going on in the beginning. I have sent letters to all of them letting them know my checking account has been closed due to fraud. I also requested that they would take the late fees off at. I realize it is not their fault, but I let them know at the time it was happening. The letter entailed, late fees to be taken off and to change my due date, since now I have to send money orders. They only reply that they need to report to credit bureau. They call repeatedly every day and I advised that I have sent letters. Any other ideas?

I would call their customer service div.'s and explain again the situation asking for a new paydate and info on sending in the payments by mo. Unfortunately they don't have to take the late charges off..but in some cases the CC will let you work out a hardship arrangement which will allow you to get caught up easier and in that case they do sometimes remove late charges.

I agree with Morningstar. Calling them would be your best bet. This way you can ensure that someone has actually heard your situation. By sending letters, it isn't for certain that they know what is going on. However, if you kept copies, you could follow up your phone call with faxing them the letters. This might help also. I'm pretty sure that as long as you have always paid on time before then they will work with you. But, they do not have to drop the fees. They may do so as a courtesy. Good luck. Smile
