Citi (At & T Universal Card) recently called and talked to my wife about MY debt. She isn't an authorized user or responsible for this debt. I live in PA and I didn't know the rules that the CC company must follow.

A credit card company can talk to your wife, regarding the debt that was incurred by you, even if she is not related or responsible in anyway.
May I know how old is your debt?

But I would check - there is difference between being able to talk to your wife and making her believe she has to pay them. My father died about 12 years ago and my Mother found out that he owed $25000 in cc she didn't know about and had never signed on. Her lawyer told her she didn't have to pay them she was not legally responsible since she was neither an authorized user nor a signer on the account. They even told her that they would call us kids and make us pay them. My mother told them fine - call the oldest kid first she's a lawyer, married to a lawyer. The calls stopped and they never tried to collect again. She told them they had no business issuing this much credit to a disabled man making $750/mo in disability.

This may differ by state - I'm not a lawyer but I would suggest consulting a lawyer in your state about her responsibility to pay them. Ronald Regan passed legislation in the early 80's that separated credit for husbands and wives and I think this is why she would not be responsible to pay. This is also why one spouse can claim bk but the other doesn't have to. You are not automatically one unit because you are married. Most collection agencies like to prey on the fact that everyone still thinks they are responsible for their spouse's debts.
