Sorry, I had to get this off of my chest.

I have been working on a settlement for a client. The client had about $4,000 for a $12,000 account. I have been working with the collector for the last two weeks and finally got them to accept $4,500.
So I call the client Monday and she tells me "Ok, I'll go and get another $500 before the end of the month."
Today she calls back and says "I don't have the money"
I say "No problem, I can get the settlement spread over a few months"
She says "No, I don't have any money"

Turns out, her 'going to get $500' means going to the local Indian Casin0 with her settlement funds...

Nuff Said.

We have a saying here...

"Can't cure stupid"

I had heard once of a client who came to us because he took his 401k out to spend on lottery tickets to pay off his debts... guess how that one ended...
