I've been trying to look around this site....a bit overwhelming, I do say. I would like some advice on how to 'take control' of my debt. I do have alot of unsecured debt. I've had several debt consolidation places call me, but, they want such a high fee for the services. Any advice on who to use?

How much your total debt is? The fees vary with different companies and with the amount of debt you have? Besides, which program was explained to you? Was it a consolidation plan or debt settlement plan? The overall payment in the consolidation plan is a little higher from debt settlement.
