Yeah, that's mainly why the AGs got involved. They want CS to change how they present information on how the whole debt settlement thing works. I believe you have to watch an online video before you can finish signing up now that explains all the good stuff and the bad stuff. Hopefully that will prevent people with good credit scores from signing up. It's supposed to be for people in way over their head in debt.

I too signed up with Credit Solutions 6 months ago, and the calls slowed down for awhile, and then started flooding in again. Last month, after hearing for the hundreth time from the collectors that Credit Solutions had never contacted them at all, I had had enough, so I called in demanding to cancel and be refunded all of my money. I had no problem with it at all, I was simply asked why I wanted to cancel, I was only to happy to let them know how they had screwed me over by just taking my money and doing absolutely nothing. Here's the thing though. When I heard that I was getting my refund and actually calmed down enough to listen to them, they told me that they actually had been in contact with my creditors. I laughed this off completely. what a shock, on one side Credit Solutions telling me one thing, on the other side, the harrassing phone calling collecors telling me the exact opposite. Why should I believe them at all? They did nothing, and the collectors were threatening to call my employer and garnish my wages. Imagine my shock when I was offered in addition to my cancellation and refund, proof that there had been contact, as well as proof that the collectors could not simply call my employer and garnish my wages. Proof? I sneered at the employee that if he could really show me proof, I'd give them another chance. Guess what? They had proof that the collector on the phone completely lied and that Credit Solutions actually had been speaking to them. Then they told me to look up the law online that they had provided to me on day 1 as far as my rights and the rules that the collectors had to follow, which I have since learned, they simply don't. I was so mad that I had said I would stay at the time, but once I got the proof, one I calmed down and actually read the inforation I had been provided at the start, I began to realize that I had not actually listened, I just wanted the stupid calls to stop. Now, a month later, I am very thankful that I did not go file bankruptcy as I had intended, and am actually moving forward in a positive direction. I may have made the decision to stay with them for the wrong reasons (I ran my mouth in anger), but it was the right decision, and I am thankful for it every day now.
My point is simply this. For those of you pissed off that Credit Solutions has done nothing like the collectors are telling you, simply make a call and ask for proof. You'll be as shocked as I was that they were actually telling the truth and that the collectors have been the ones lying. It actually makes sense though, since Chase wants all the money that they can get out of me, and Credit Solutions is helping me reduce what I will pay them overall. Yeah, my FICO score sucks right now, but it did before I enrolled, so they didn't help that. The bottom line is that I want the damn debts gone, and I want to pay as little as possible to do that, and Credit Solution is actually helping me. Just like anything inlife, the proof is in the pudding, and when I asked for the proof, I got it. You should too.

I have been with them for five month. when I hired them I had a very bad accident and I had no other choice. This company is a big time fraud, thief and liers. I am hiring a lawyer to get out of the contract I sign with them. Who ever is thinking of hiring this co please think a thousand time because I don't want you to go through what I went through. My credit report is messed up I am going to court because of the credit card co to get thier money and most of all they made me broke. I am posting this because I don't want anyone togo through what I am going through.

MY STORY: I think Credit Solutions must have changed management at some point. B/c at first they were great, they settled our debt on a few credit cards..then after like 6 months (we still had 3 credit cards to settle by then) they stopped returning our calls, and were basically not doing anything to help us. However....there is one thing they did do for us, they frustrated us to such a point that I got so upset and mustered up the courage to call my debtors myself...I thought Credit Solutions is charging people and doing nothing...how hard can it be for me to take my credit into my own hands! So I did, I called, I bartered w/ the companies myself and I settled my own debt. After they annoyed my creditors with their inaction for so long, my creditors were more than willing to work with me. So thanks credit solutions for totally being a horrible no action company....you moved me to realize that I am better than you! It has now been a couple of years and my credit is starting to recuperate. I shudder to think what would have happened to it otherwise...and ya know what? Speaking of the devil they called me a week ago wanting to know if I had interest in settling...(mind you all my debt is already settled, wonder how they DIDNT know that ha) and I told them..." Hmmm maybe I will give that a thought and get back to you in two years like you did me!" Then I laughed like a maniac and hung up. Not the grown up thing to do...but boy did it feel good!

I had been contacted by them to join the work at home program and now I am wondering if I should cancel before I even start. I checked with the BBB and they hadn't even heard aout them until April. They have had no complaints on them. I couldn't remember that they told me tht it would cost me $50.00 a month and they keep talking about shipment costs. What are shipment costs?

I am just coming into my 3rd month with Credit Solutions on an 18 month consolidation program. Should I seriously be concerned, I warned them up front about my discomfort with this situation, but now I am defaulting on my cards and they claim they haven't heard anything from Credit Solutions. I spoke with 1 of the customer service reps yesterday and they assured me after 4 to 5 months I will be recieving offers to settle from creditors. I know I am taking a hit on my credit but I figure if I can be free in 18 months Honestly. Then it is worth it to me. I can repair it just as fast once my debt to income ratio improves. I just want to get a warm feeling from the step I have taken with Credit Solutions. I would not have found this site if I wasn't concerned.

honestly it is not uncommon to hear creditors say that they have not heard from them or that they will not work with them or whatever. they want thier money as fast as they can get it and if they scare you into it thats just as good. im not saying one way or the other about this particular company but settlement does work. and it is a horrible uneasy feeling that you get during the process but in the end it will work out i promise!

I got scammed by Credit Solutions too. They took my money, told me it was going to my creditors and nothing ever did. They kept my money and told me i should have been saving money in my own personal savings. Aparently I was paying them to tell me how much to put in my savings. I called and emailed the person who enrolled me in the program for months and left messages and never once got a call back until i got a random customer survey call from one of them out of the blue-had nothing to do with my complaints or messages just calling to say hi pretty much.

I told The "customer service" woman i spoke to everything and she pretty much called me stupid and said "what were you thinking" for trusting them when they werent returning my phone calls or emails for a few months.

Well, after reading the good and the bad of it all I've decided to tackle my debt on my own. I have no one but myself to blame for running up 1,000's in unsecured debt. I can't blame the card companies, and I'm not going to put myself in a position to blame a debt relief company. It's time I start being financially responsible and take my money power back. Let the pay-off credit snowball begin!

Oh. My. God.

This company really proves how much money a few seconds on Google can save you! 1,722 complaints on the BBB! Sued by the state Attorneys General of Missouri, New York, Texas!

Well, here's at least one reason to love Missouri:
Quote:
According to the Missouri AG, Credit Solutions of America illegally charged customers around 15 percent of their entire debt by collecting an up-front payment and subsequent direct installments withdrawn from the customer's bank account. Missouri law prohibits a credit services company from taking money from a customer until all of the agreed-upon services are performed in full.
I wish the rest of the states would get on the ball and jump aboard on that one!

Terrible experience with credit solutions. They have experienced people like Jennifer giving you very irresponsible advice , making it sound like they know what they're doing but in the process you get deeper in debt because they are doing nothing to help but take your monthly fees. I got sued by the credit card company and the advice from credit solutions legal department was to wait to answer the supoena, that they couldn't help me and that it was the best thing that could had happened to me because now I could explain to a judge my situation.
PLEASE STAY AWAY...THEY'RE THE WORST...NO ETHICS...JUST A HUGE SHAM

Everything that CS does for you, you can do for yourself. You can negotiate your own debt settlements. You can settle your debt for 30% of the principal amount. They settle it for 50% of the whole amount including interest and make you think they are doing you a favor. No, they are making a huge profit.

Sorry to all of you that believe you got scammed, But Credit Solutions worked out GREAT for me!!!!!! I may not have had much debt (about $7000 in credit cards) but it needed it wiped out cause I was going back to school and couldn't afford the payments. Credit solutions has there own monthly fees which correspond with you debt. SERIOUSLY!!, they cut my total debt down to about $3000, there fees were about $900 and I was completely done and settled out with my four accounts in about 8 months. They saved me about $3000 and years and years of payments and accured interest not to mention having to deal with the credit card companies.

I made the mistake of being a credit solutions client for almost a year now. Not anymore as of yesterday. Not one time did they ever do what they said they were going to do. Thats a thousand dollars down the drain.

I doubt he is lying. Yes I did have to contact them a number of times for various reasons because I was REALLY freaked out about not paying my credit card bill anymore. I did what they said, I never talked to my credit card compaines because they will say that they do not work with credit solutions because that want all of there money back but I stayed away from them. I received letter after letter saying my accounts are past due and will be sent to a collections agency and then they will be no way for me to neogotiate my overall amount. I contacted CS about it and faxed them every piece of mail that I received and I stayed patient and then about 4 months later I received my first settlement offer and I took it and within another 4 months I settled out my remaining accounts. I even asked to have some offers lowered and it worked. The trick to making this work is you have to stay on these people. They may forget about things sometimes and you need to remind them, afterall these are your accounts and if you want then wiped out then you have to keep reminding these people and provide them with anything that these creditors are sending you so they know exactly what is going on and they can help you. The PROOF is below, i copied my accounts (but i deleted the account number of course) from what I initially started off with and then what I settled. I started with a little over $6000 and I settled all of the accounts for about $2000, so I settled for about 33% of what I owed. CS does charge for there service and that was about a little under $800.
