i have noticed quite a jump in the amount of advertising lately. Be cautious of "guest" users telling what you should do.

Bossy is correct there are many ways you can deal with your debt and you will need to know about all of them to make a good choice. So read up on all of them and let us know about which way you are leaning!

Not sure what that last post was about but I think we should answer the question.

What I would do is talk to your creditors and try to work something out with them. Sometimes they are wiling to work with you instead of having you not pay anything at all. Ignoring it and not doing anything will not make it go away and often makes it worse. If you want to go the debt settlement way - doing it yourself is not as hard as it seems if you are willing to work for it a little. Most debt settlement companies are scams and do very little to help you.
