I agree, well kind of . You should do a debt management Plan if you can afford the payment. The only time you should consider a debt settlement program is when you are overextended and can`t afford a dmp , can`t afford the minimum payments , and don`t want to file bankruptcy. Unfortunately Creditsolutions.com sucks because they have poor customer service, plus they don`t do a budget before they enroll you to see if you even have a hardship that would require a settlement program. How can any company properly diagnose your problem without really knowing what you can afford.

You have one shot at this and if you make the wrong decision, you are screwed because some of these companies are growing so fast with the economy the way it is and with salespeople on the forums, that you could easily be assigned someone new in the office that is going through a divorce and are having health issues and accidently drop the ball on a few things through the course of a day and then you are in big trouble......woops, the account just got charged off and went to collections........sorry.
Rather than flipping a coin or taking the advice of someone you don't even know, see a reputable local attorney about helping you out if you get in a pinch and study up on this site and others how you can do it yourself. You will be money in the bank and at least know what is going on with your own finances versus allowing someone else to possibly get it all screwed up and charge you some hefty fees in the process. Be Careful Out There......... Worst yet, if you aren't careful, they could steal all of your money? It happens........... |

How original guest . You just basically copy and pasted the exact same thing on several other threads. We get your point. All settlement companies are the devil. bla bla bla.

When I was looking into debt settlement I did not choose Credit Solutions because if I could save on my own then I would not have a problem with my bills. Plus they want fees but what are they doing exactly. How can they settle when the customer has to call them to let them know what is in the account. Settlements would be impossible, and at that point I could save my money and do it myself and I'd be doing at least 80%. So after my debacle at being with a law firm that was cancelled and I went with Superior Debt. In some of my other posts I mentioned my postive dealings with them.

I guess I need someone to guide me away from these crooks as well. I signed up back in 7/07 when they began drafting my checking account $632.74 for the first 9 months & have been now removing $316.74 every month since. I have only "settled" with one account & it wasn't exactly a great negotiation ( ended up paying 85% of the balance owed - HARDLY what CSA says they can get things down to ). I still get an occasional letter from a debt collector & promptly mail it to CSA ( whose address has changed ). CSA then emails me in return that they got the paperwork & to continue to send them any additional papers as they arrive. Kinda wondering exactly what my monthly $316.74 is going for!! Please feel free to contact me w/any suggestions for a go-forward plan. Thanks!!

OMG!!! I HAVE 3 ACCTS WITH CREDIT SOLUTIONS AND HAD TO SETTLE 2 OF THEM ON MY OWN BECAUSE ALL THEY DO IS SIT ON THERE ASS AND DO NOTHING BUT COLLECT MY MONEY FOR THEIR SO CALLED SERVICES. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM SINCE JANUARY AND THEY HAVE ONLY SETTLED 1 ACCT FOR ME. ONE OF THEM I ONLY OWED 585.00 AND NOW ITS UP TO 1165.00 WITH FEES AND THEY WONT ACCEPT ANYTHING LESS THAN 700.00 IN 2 PAYMENTS. SO SOMETHING I COULD HAVE ONLY PAID 300.00 ON WENT UP TO 700.00 THANKS TO CREDIT SOLUTIONS.

I too, did the mistake of subscribing to cs, and gave them a ton of my money they do not deserve. I'm trying to sue them not but have trouble finding out who their "agent for sevice" is for Eastern California. Any tips of how I can get that info? They can not find it in court either

Credit Solutions currently has a class action lawsuit against them by the law firm called Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP out of Seattle, WA. I would try and contact them to see what you can do to recoup your money.

I enrolled with them a little over a year ago. So far they settled 1 account that was originally $1800 for $3000!! I have 3 other accounts threatening litigation and can't get the same rep twice on the phone. So far they have taken $3100 in fees!! I'm feeling pretty screwed over and barely making my mortgage payments to boot!! I have a 1st morg of $1800 and a second of $900. And before some genious tells me I should have blah blah blah, yea no shit!! Got it I screwed up!! I spent most of the credit card debt on a wife that pretty much conned me from day one. Yea again I know, I screwed up, I believed a woman that looked like she stepped out of cosmo actually loved me and not what I could/would do for her. I had intended to refi my second morg one more time to eliminate the cc debt but that's when the bottom fell out of the housing market and my house thar appraised at $395,000 in June 2006 appraised at $280,000 in March of 2007!! At this time my house is still worth maybe $290,000 if I'm lucky and I owe $220,000 on my 1st and $100,000 on my second! So now I still can't refi and I can't even sell the house because of the negative equity. So I have established my stupidity and hopefully will be enough for everyone about that, I am eminently aware of what I should have done. My task now is where to go from here as Creditsolutions was obviously one more screwup on my part. I welcome any CONSTRUCTIVE comments

There is no way you were a former loan officer with a top credit union. If you were, you would know the correct form of the words "debit" vs. "debt". Plus I can't even count how many gramatical errors are in your little rant here. Almost makes the point your trying to make, secondary. But then again when you describe your employment status, "were" is past tense.

After doing research on the debt settlement industry as a whole you will find that a majority of the companies do not post their “actual†results.
Why is that the case? On the other hand what is easily found on the Credit Solutions website is: 1. Actual settlement letters, ranging from 5% to 70% - updated monthly creditsolutions.com/service_settlements.php 2. Real people saving real money creditsolutions.com/service_success.php 3. Their settlement department monthly / quarterly results since 2004 creditsolutions.com/service_results.php 4. Total debt settled ticker – over “800 million†and counting creditsolutions.com/about_facts.php 5. Awards – from customer service to technology creditsolutions.com/about_awards.php Don't you think it's time for the "other" settlement companies to post their results? |

Anyone have any ideas on how to recover some of the thousands of dollars back from credit Solutions for not doing anything for 2 1/2 years. Very upset and could pay off a credit card debt with all the money I have paid them over 17 months. Ideas would be great.

Credit Solutions is a big joke. They will enroll any client they can even if they are better suited for a credit counseling program. Plus they will say just about anything to get you to enroll with them. CSA gives the debt settlement industry a bad name so I am rather glad they are going to get railed in the near future. Texas Steve if I were you I would get in on the class action law suite with Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP out of Seattle, WA.
